This tunic is as much contemporary as it has a bit of an old world charm, hence the name “Sherwood Maiden”.
Knitted on sizes 5 and 6 needles either 29” or 32” in length this tunic works up in individual pieces. Every piece sports a different stitch, which makes for a fun and anything but boring project.
The pattern is written and shows lots of photos, hopefully easy to understand. This tunic is an exciting knit for an advanced beginner as well as a seasoned knitter.
The tunic can be worn throughout the year. For instance in the summer you could wear it over a tank, camisole or T-shirt and in the cooler months over a blouse, turtle-neck or long sleeve T-shirt which makes this a versatile piece to have.
I used 2 skeins of the Diakeito “Diaanhelo” for the top of the tunic and two skeins of my favorite Zen Garden’s “Serenity Silk Single” in two contrasting colors which is a delight to knit with.
